Brittany Fischer Passes PhD Candidacy Exam

CHAIRE Graduate Student Brittany Fischer recently passed her candidacy exam and officially became a PhD candidate in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. Brittany is co-advised by Drs. Mark Flint and Tom Wittum, with additional committee members Dr. Jaylene Flint of the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine, and Drs. Jess Pempek and Kelly George of the Department of Animal Sciences. For her candidacy exam, Brittany presented on "Using a One Welfare-Based Ecosystem Model to Assess Harvesting of Fishes in Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems," providing an overview of her PhD work to-date and describing her goals for the project as it moves forward. Through her exam, Brittany demonstrated both growing expertise in her field and an impressive ability to communicate her work and ideas.
