CHAIRE Presents Animals In Our Lives Featuring Dr. Temple Grandin

Oct. 3, 2019

Our second annual fundraising event took place on Monday September 30 at the Dave Thomas Conference Center. The night began with a mingling session with animals from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Brutus Buckeye and an opportunity to bid on silent auction items. Our program began at 6pm and included a coursed dinner for guests to enjoy. Speakers during the presentation included: Brittany Fischer, Program Coordinator of CHAIRE, Dr. Kelly George and Dr. Tony Parker, Co-Directors of CHAIRE, Dr. Cathann Kress, Vice President for Agricultural Administration and Dean of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, Tom Stalf, President and CEO of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Dr. Peter Neville, COAPE International, and Dr. Temple Grandin, Colorado State University.

We would like to thank our silent auction sponsors: the College of Veterinary Medicine, Weber, Beef Marketing Group, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the Wilds, Althauser Honey Farms, the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, and Donna Ramey from 31 Gifts. A special thank you to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium who was also an event sponsor of the evening.

This event would not have been possible without Kim Brown, Senior Graphic Designer of CFAES, who created all of the artwork for our event. We would also like to thank Sherrie Whaley, Media Relations Coordinator, who took pictures during our fundraiser, which are included in the video below.

We would also like to thank all individual members of CHAIRE, our internal partners, and external partners who attended and showed their support of our mission to enhance the relationships between humans and animals and advance appropriate husbandry and management of wild and domestic species through collaborative research, education, and outreach.

It is due to your support that we are able to continue to enhance students' lives, contribute to the field of research, and promote positive welfare for all.
