CHAIRE's First Annual Fundraising Event

Sep. 25, 2018

CHAIRE’s first annual fundraising event took place on September 19th at the Nationwide & Farm Bureau 4-H center.

It was a very special evening filled with human-animal interactions! We would again like to thank our sponsors Ed and Ellen Klopfer, Melissa and Molly Muth, and the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. The event would not have been such a success without the generous support from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Our speakers Dr. John Foltz, Dean Rustin Moore, Jack Hanna, and Suzi Rapp shared their experiences and support for CHAIRE.

We would also like to thank the staff from the Franklin County Sherriff's Office Therapy k9s and staff from the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for their attendance and support.  Faculty and staff from the Animal Sciences department donated center pieces for the event as a representation of the multitude of species that impact lives on a daily basis. Members of CHAIRE attended the event to show their support of our mission. The Human-Animal Interactions Club, the student organization of CHAIRE, volunteered their time as greeters and helpful aids to guests upon their arrival.

On behalf of Dr. Kelly George and Dr. Tony Parker, who are the Co-directors of CHAIRE, and Brittany Fischer, Program Coordinator of CHAIRE, we would like to thank everyone who attended the event. We are excited to continue to grow as a center and to enhance the relationships between humans and animals through research, education, and outreach.  Stay tuned for more information about CHAIRE’s next annual fundraiser, which will take place next year, and include new speakers and opportunities!
