Nicole Lorig Receives L.E. Kunkle Award

April 24, 2020

Congratulations to CHAIRE Graduate Student Nicole Lorig for being awarded the L.E. Kunkle Award at the Department of Animal Sciences Student Celebration Banquet on April 23!

The L.E. Kunkle Award is given to an outstanding graduate student in recognition of valuable contributions to the Graduate Program. Dr. Kim Cole nominated Nicole for her contributions to The Ohio State University Extension in the Ohio 4-H Horse Program. As part of Nicole's thesis project, she worked with Dr. Cole to develop a statewide educational program for the 4-H Horse Program to create baseline statewide requirements for education regarding horse projects, and to unify the program as a whole.

When asked about her reaction Nicole said, "I am so honored to have been nominated for this award and to have been selected as one of the winners alongside another graduate student, Nicole Hardy."
