Biography:
Dr. Seeley is one of the clinical veterinarians providing care to the animals at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. In additional to being a board certified specialist in the field of zoological medicine, Dr. Seeley has research interests in how to quantify the impact of chronic stress in animal populations, particularly in the face of human activities. Dr. Seeley’s master’s project looked at validating biomarkers of chronic stress in ring-tailed lemurs. Currently her PhD research is validating and applying these metrics to sifaka lemurs both under managed care and in their native ranges.
