Biography: 

Dr. Miller provides leadership to Ohio’s 4-H livestock, companion, and small animal programs. She coordinates the Ohio 4-H PetPALS program, of which she and Marie Suthers, DVM, Carroll College, Helena, MT, co-authored the curriculum. Ohio’s 4-H PetPALS is an animal-assisted activities curriculum, with the PALS in 4-H PetPALS standing for People and Animals Linking Successfully. 4-H PetPALS is modeled after Pet Partners®, and is the only comprehensive animal-assisted activities 4-H curriculum in the nation.

Miller coordinates state and regional companion and small animal training opportunities and provides leadership to and assists with companion and small animal curriculum development. She also provides leadership to Ohio State Fair companion and small animal activities, and the State 4-H Dog Advisory Committee.

Miller has received numerous awards throughout her career including the Excellence in 4-H Award, NAE4-HA Distinguished Service Award, and NAE4-HA Meritorious Service Award.

Accompanied by three dogs, rabbits, chickens, cats and horses, Miller lives on a farm near Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
