Biography:

My name is Shannon Kelley, I recently graduated in Spring 2019 from The Ohio State University with a B.S. degree in Animal Science-Bioscience, and now I will be starting as a CHAIRE graduate student in Fall 2019. As an undergraduate, my research experience revolved around the animal welfare and behavior of various avian species, and now my upcoming graduate research will revolve around two different pillars within CHARIE, Animal Welfare and Zooeyia, where I will be looking into the effect of human-animal interactions on the mental health and well-being of college students as well as the effect students may have on the various animals commonly used within animal-assisted therapies. Overall, I am really excited to make my contribution to our understanding of anthrozoology in the coming years through this awesome program.
